Scope of work:
The Department of Restorative Dentistry is involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of dental caries and their complications (endodontic treatment) in permanent teeth.  Moreover, it provides aesthetic corrections of the shape of the tooth, e.g., after the completion of fixed orthodontic treatment, whitening of the teeth (external and internal), and pre-prosthetic restoration of devitalised teeth using fibreglass pins and composites.
We provide treatment for various types of tooth injuries (fractures, luxation), using the latest treatment methods/procedures.
In the area of filling therapy, we use modern plastic filling materials (amalgam, composite, glassionomer cements) from world-renowned manufacturers.
In endodontic therapy, we use a surgical operating microscope, special computer-controlled endodontic motors, an apex locator, nickel-titanium root rotational instruments, electrocautery, and special preparation ultrasound endings, and we use condensation techniques for the definitive filling of root canals (lateral condensation of gutta-percha, vertical condensation of gutta-percha, heated gutta-percha on a plastic carrier); We have our own intraoral X-ray device at the department and we use modern endosurgical protocols (root apex resection).
Upon agreement with the inpatient ward, we are able to provide treatment of a limited number of mentally disabled patients, patients with iatrophobia, and those with a strong vomit reflex, under general anesthesia in the operating room.
